Trump’s Postmaster General and Republican megadonor Louis DeJoy testified before the Senate today and his corruption was on full display.

Trump is attempting to damage public confidence in the Post Office before an expected surge in mail-in voting in this year's election, and DeJoy is literally trying to slow USPS operations in order to serve Trump’s corrupt voter suppression scheme. Now DeJoy is refusing to reverse the damage before the election.

Why: Because the USPS is critical for our democracy!

Trump and DeJoy are attacking the Post Office to suppress the vote in November. Already, DeJoy has targeted critical swing states like Florida, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to remove blue mail-collection boxes. And with voters expected to vote by mail in record numbers during the pandemic, he has literally ordered the dismantling of flat mail sorting machines critical for getting ballots in on time. But in hearings today he told senators that he has no plans to reinstall the over 600 mail sorting machines removed under his leadership. 

Republicans in the Senate are enabling Trump’s corruption. Democrats have passed a bill to ensure $25 billion to save the USPS and $3.6 billion to fully fund vote-by-mail to protect our election in the pandemic. But Republicans led by Mitch McConnell are blocking these critical lifelines.

That’s not just unacceptable - it’s an outrage.

That’s why HAZMAT America is joining with MoveOn, NAACP, Indivisible, and hundreds of local groups to demand a stop to DeJoy’s attacks on the Post Office, and a reversal of damage already done.
