Gulf Coast Prepares for Possible Twin Hurricanes

Two tropical storm systems are expected to grow into hurricanes that will simultaneously barrel through the Gulf of Mexico over the next several days. They are slated to strike Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and Puerto Rico during the week of Aug. 23. Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., which is still rebuilding after being decimated by a Category 5 hurricane in 2018, and Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., have begun early storm preparation.
