No parent should get a call from their child in the ER.
Dear Friend,
I was sick and tired of watching Maryland and Virginia drivers rack up millions of dollars of dangerous speeding tickets in DC with zero accountability. They make our neighborhood streets more dangerous, so I did something about it. I wrote and passed the STEER Act to give our DC Attorney General the power to go after reckless drivers putting you and your neighbors at risk.
Right here in Ward 6, a young student on the way home from school was struck in a crosswalk by a dangerous Maryland driver who had escaped accountability for far too long. Today, she’s recovered and is headed to high school, while the driver’s facing real consequences because of the STEER Act. Her mother, Deirdre, spoke with me about what it meant to get that call after her daughter had been hit and how important it was to hold the driver accountable. I want to share her words with you and how the STEER Act’s leading to real change:
As we get close to Election Day, I need volunteers who are ready to talk with voters and show this campaign is serous about earning their support. If you can take off an hour or two, let me know below and we'll put you to work with everything you need:
Please rank me #1 on your ballot, and send me back to the Council to fight for you and safer streets across DC.
Thank you,
Follow the Campaign!
