I’d like to tell you why I’m endorsing Effie Phillips-Staley’s campaign for Congress.
I've watched a lot of candidates run in tough districts. Most play it safe: they water down their message, take the corporate PAC money, and hope nobody notices they don't stand for anything. Effie is doing the opposite.

Effie is running to flip NY-17, a seat held by Trump-aligned Mike Lawler. He is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the country. And she's doing it on a platform that actually matches the scale of the problems we face:
* Medicare for All, because no one should go bankrupt for getting sick.
* A plan to build 5 MILLION new homes, because the housing crisis won't be solved with tax credits and half-measures.
* Banning hedge funds from buying single-family homes, because Wall Street shouldn't be your landlord.
And she's doing all of this without a dime of corporate PAC or AIPAC money. Effie can't be bought, and she won't be bullied into moderating a message that voters are hungry for.
Her primary is just a few weeks away, on June 23. This is the moment where grassroots support decides whether a real progressive makes it through. I've seen races like this won and lost in the final weeks. It always comes down to whether people show up.
