NYU. There has been an arrest after an

ugly anti-Israel incident at New York University marred graduation celebrations. Alexander Stepnowsky, who was an NYU student at the time, admitted to flying a flag depicting swastikas and a Star of David over NYU’s Steinhardt building. An NYU representative firmly criticized the incident, saying “the symbols that were represented are antisemitic and hateful to every person of conscience… we will immediately pursue our disciplinary procedures, which carry the most severe consequences.”

CU Boulder. Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) published a horrendous and hateful statement on the one-year mark after the 2025 Boulder firebombing attack on a peaceful march in support of the 10/7 hostages. They

condemned the post as “beyond reprehensible,” noting that while communities were mourning Karen Diamond, who died from injuries sustained in the attack, and showing solidarity with the 28 others who were injured, SJP chose to glorify the attack. The University of Colorado Boulder also

denounced the post, stating that “glorification of violence is abhorrent.” The university confirmed that the hateful post is being reviewed by school officials and reiterated that SJP is not a recognized student organization due to previous violations. The University of Colorado Board of Regents also

adopted a resolution condemning those who condone antisemitic violence, stating that “harming and killing innocent people is not resistance.”

Nebraska. Governor Jim Pillen signed Executive Order 26-14 at the State Capitol during Jewish American Heritage Month, requiring every K-12 public school district, community college and university in Nebraska to submit an annual report to the Governor's office

documenting all antisemitism complaints and incidents. The order also integrates the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism into codes of conduct for students, faculty and staff. "No student in Nebraska should ever have to hide their faith, their heritage or who they are out of fear," Pillen said. ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt

California K-12 Litigation. Sequoia Union High School District in California has

agreed to settle a lawsuit by six Jewish families that alleged numerous antisemitic incidents. The lawsuit said that school administrators repeatedly ignored their concerns. Among the complaints in the lawsuit: A TA advised a Jewish student to conceal her Star of David necklace or she would “get what she deserved;” another Jewish student told by a peer that he “hopes me and my entire family burn in hell, and that Hamas kills us all.” The settlement mandates that the school add faculty training on antisemitism, enhance its reporting system for discrimination and effectively review materials about the Israel-Palestine conflict. The settlement also includes a $325,000
payment to the families.

Benedictine. The irony is hard to miss: Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas was blanketed with

antisemitic fliers shortly after hosting a conference called "Shoulder to Shoulder: Strengthening Jewish-Catholic Friendship." The fliers, distributed by a group calling itself the "Coalition of Catholics Against Jewish Supremacy," claimed that "Jews exist purely and entirely in opposition to Christ." Students responsible for the fliers received one-year suspensions. To their credit, other students were among the first to tear them down — and the college's own Latin Mass Society condemned the flyers, stating they are “manifestly contrary" to the teachings of the Second Vatican Council. An Inside Look at Gen Z Antisemitism. As a Stanford University freshman, Theo Baker authored high-profile news reporting about manipulated research. As a sophomore, he wrote a blistering essay in the Atlantic about the campus climate for Jewish students called

“How to Rule the World: An Education in Power at Stanford University.” He talks about the surge (and fade) in anti-Israel activism there and how the bile increased his connection to being Jewish. He also examines how antisemitism manifests for his generation, and the consequences of unreliable information inside student social media echo chambers. You Have Questions, ADL Has Answers. As more universities roll out antisemitism training programs, not all of them are created equal — and some can actually make things worse. ADL's new guide,
[link removed]
Questions Universities Should Ask When Vetting Campus Antisemitism Trainings, gives administrators a framework for evaluating whether a training option is factually accurate, based on sound teaching practices and aligned with school values. As the guide notes, "trainings that are factually inaccurate or ideologically driven can unintentionally exacerbate harm, deepen polarization, or marginalize members of the campus community." Forward this resource to your university contacts.
