John, today is National Senior Citizens Day—a day to show how much we care about the elderly folks in our lives.
This year, as we face a pandemic that has disproportionately impacted older people, the day takes on a special significance. Today, we must not only offer words of support, but commit to supporting and improving the policies, systems, and institutions that offer health and financial lifelines to our senior citizens.
That means protecting Medicare and Social Security from proposed cuts. It means funding the U.S. Postal Service (which so many seniors rely on to receive medication in a timely manner) and fighting back against the partisan effort to undermine it. It means listening to medical experts, wearing a mask, and calling out the dangerous misinformation from politicians that has sadly prolonged this pandemic.
Cameron took an oath as a doctor: do no harm. That's a principle we need to apply more in our politics, especially when it comes to our senior citizens.
Cameron will protect Social Security and Medicare, champion the Postal Service and its essential workers who help all of VA-05's communities stay connected, and always make sure facts and science are represented at the policy-making table.
Chip in to elect Cameron so he can be an advocate for our seniors—and everyone in the Fifth District. We're only 74 days out from Election Day, and every few dollars makes a difference!
