You may know me as Phil Coulson, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Iron Man, The Avengers, and Agents of SHIELD.
But even serving as Nick Fury's right-hand man hardly compares to the kind of work that my friend Josh Stein does each day at the North Carolina Department of Justice.
And long before Josh began his career in public service, he and I were next door neighbors growing up in Chapel Hill, NC.
These days, Josh fights for consumers, protects our environment, and stands up to the Trump administration. He may not be battling aliens, but he sure is taking down the bad guys.
Since Josh took office as AG, he has sued drug manufacturers for their role in the opioid crisis, forced major polluters to clean up drinking water, shut down predatory lenders, and led the fight against robocallers. North Carolina -- and America as a whole -- needs Josh Stein.
It takes courage and dedication to do what’s right and to stand up in the face of big moneyed special interests. Josh is in for a tough race, but I know Josh — he won’t back down.
