I want to share some updates with you from my campaign and across the nation. Here are three things you need to know:

1. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy appeared today before the United States Senate to discuss the recent Postal Service cuts and cancellations linked to voter suppression. The House of Representatives is meeting tomorrow to vote on the Delivering for America Act, a bill to defend the USPS and election security, and I am optimistic that we will pass it. DeJoy will appear before the House next week, where we intend to pursue answers and accountability.  
2. This week, the first-ever virtual Democratic National Convention confirmed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as our candidates for President and Vice President. The convention was full of inspiring moments, but I want to particularly highlight President Obama’s call to action:
   
   “No single American can fix this country alone. Not even a president. … So I am also asking you to believe in your own ability – to embrace your own responsibility as citizens – to make sure that the basic tenets of our democracy endure.”

3. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Georgia leads the nation in the rate of new coronavirus infections. In the last two weeks, over 40,000 people contracted the virus and over 850 died. More data here. I urge you to wear a mask in public, practice social distancing, stay home if you feel sick, and continue to do your part to protect the health of our communities.
