John,

When Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry declared a state of emergency and suspended his state’s primary elections in order to redraw their congressional map, it meant that 45,000 ballots would be discarded.

When the Virginia Supreme Court invalidated the results of a ballot initiative to approve the state’s new map, the ruling silenced 3 million Virginians.

In Alabama, after the Supreme Court gave them permission to revisit their map, officials shut down an ongoing primary election and tried to ignore the ballots already cast by thousands of voters.

It’s a disturbing trend. Republicans are willing to do the once unthinkable — throwing out already-cast ballots — in order to maintain their grip on power.

And this is just the beginning. These anti-democracy attacks will only get worse if we don't mount a fierce opposition to stop this ominous trend in its tracks.

The National Democratic Redistricting Committee is fighting back against this coordinated assault on our basic freedoms — but we can’t do it alone.

It’s all hands on deck to fight this power grab. Can you make a donation to help defend democracy in this urgent moment? [[link removed]]

Thank you,

The National Democratic Redistricting Committee
