While you were sleeping, Springfield Democrats pulled an all-nighter to force through a massive, record-breaking $56 billion state budget.
Instead of giving property tax relief to struggling Illinois families, Governor JB Pritzker and his supermajority chose to prioritize illegal immigrants over law-abiding taxpayers.
Their new budget spends $143 million on healthcare programs specifically for older illegal immigrants, plus another $4 million for immigrant welcoming services.
Worse yet, the federal government is now threatening to pull vital airport staffing from Illinois because Pritzker refuses to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The Democrats are willing to risk our safety and our economy just to fund and protect their sanctuary state status for illegal immigrants.
The message from Springfield is clear: If you pay taxes and play by the rules, you come last.
