JOhn, quick update from the House Oversight Committee:
The good news: After months of trying to evade questioning, former Attorney General Pam Bondi finally testified in a closed-door committee hearing about the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein files.
The bad news: Bondi was evasive, had several instances of sudden and convenient memory fog, and downright refused to answer many of our questions.
I was in the room, and I can tell you right now the whole thing was a total charade. It’s all about protecting the President and his interests — there’s not an ounce of focus being given to securing justice for Epstein’s survivors or accountability for his enablers.

Pam Bondi spent the entire time passing the buck straight to her Deputy AG Todd Blanche:
This was Todd’s thing. Todd was in charge. Ask Todd.
And it’s true that when you look at the horrific Epstein saga, Todd Blanche — Trump’s former personal attorney who was his defense lawyer in his criminal trials — has been at the center of so much of this. Moving Ghislaine Maxwell to a minimum security prison, refusing to release 2.5 million files, even personally being involved in the redaction process.
And it makes sense that Trump wants his personal attorney leading the charge here. Because Trump is in the files!
My Republican colleagues on the House Oversight Committee know that as well as I do, and they’re working overtime to continue this cover-up. Why? Because they’re afraid of the President, plain and simple.
But we can’t give up our push for justice. We need to hear from Todd Blanche and Kash Patel, and we need to hear from them under oath and on video.
Right now we’re pushing to subpoena Blanche and Patel, and I’m hopeful that enough Republicans will join us in that vote to make it happen so we can continue this investigation — because Epstein and Maxwell’s survivors deserve nothing less than full and transparent accountability.
