John,
I just got back from Des Moines and I want to tell you why I went.
I was there to campaign with Rob Sand, Iowa's Democratic nominee for governor. If you haven't heard his name yet, I want to make sure you do.
Rob is Iowa's State Auditor and the only Democrat currently holding statewide office in the state. He's spent his career going after scammers and bad actors regardless of party, prosecuting public corruption, and protecting taxpayer dollars. He’s been doing the serious work of holding government accountable for years.
He's also exactly the kind of candidate I believe can win in a state a lot of national Democrats have written off.
I know something about that. Kentucky voted for Donald Trump by over 30 points in 2024. But I won statewide in Kentucky three times. Because I went everywhere, listened to everyone, and made the case that good government isn't a red or blue idea. It's just the right thing to do.
Rob Sand is doing the same thing in Iowa. He's done town halls in all 99 counties. He's talking to farmers about trade and tariffs hurting their livelihoods. He's talking to families about an economy that's left Iowa ranked 49th in the country for economic growth. He's not waiting to be invited; he's showing up.
If Rob Sand wins in Iowa in November, it’s going to help Iowa families. It also changes the map for Democrats in 2028 and beyond. It proves that we can compete everywhere, not just in the “swing” states we have to win with zero margin of error. That's worth fighting for. And right now, it's worth investing in.
Will you make a contribution today to help me elect good candidates and good people across the country?

I went to Iowa because I know this race can be won. I'm asking you to help make it happen.
