Dear community,
Join us for our Education for Black Liberation Virtual Forum on Wednesday, August 26th from 6pm - 8pm!
We will hold a space for conversation between community members demanding educational equity in New York City, now and beyond. Together we will radically transform the system, from one that oppresses Black children to one that serves our collective liberation.
The conversation will be facilitated by Dr. Yamila Hussein, Palestinian Activist and Scholar.
Speakers include:
Dianne Morales, Educator, Parent and candidate for NYC Mayor
Brianna Baker, Educator and the Founder of Justice for Black Girls
Khari Shabazz, Former Principal and Board Member of Metropolitan Lighthouse Academy Charter School
Tanesha Grant, Parent Activist and CEO of Parents Supporting Parents NYC
Tiffany Torres, Student Advocate and an Activist with Teens Take Charge
RSVP to reserve your spot for Wednesday night. Can’t wait to see you all there!
We will be highlighting the voices of educators, students, parents and other members across the education system about what education for Black liberation means to them throughout the month on our social media platforms. We invite you to take just a few minutes to submit one and invite those in your network to participate!
Thank you, and see you Wednesday night!
