School is almost out across Maryland. Kids are getting ready for summer:
the long days, the heat, the freedom, the break from routines.

I’m already thinking about what comes next, because summer doesn’t pause
the pressure these programs are under, and we have to act now to make sure
they’re strong when children return.

For 61 years, Head Start has helped millions of children and families
thrive by investing in early learning and opportunity.

But that promise is under real strain right now, as Head Start faces
funding uncertainty and repeated efforts in Washington that would scale
back or weaken programs families depend on.

I am pushing back against efforts to weaken it and standing up for our
children and youth. [ [link removed] ]If you're ready to stand with me, will you chip in
$10 today to help protect programs like Head Start and ensure children
have the support they need to learn, grow, and thrive?

Your support helps me continue fighting for investments that give children
a strong start in life: fully funding Head Start, supporting the dedicated
staff who show up every day for our youngest learners, and making sure
every child has access to high-quality services and care.

But Head Start is only one piece of a much larger responsibility we have
to children and youth.

A child’s future is shaped long before kindergarten, by access to health
care, nutrition, safe housing, strong schools, and the support systems
families rely on every day. That’s why I think about this work in a
broader context: building an ecosystem where children can actually grow,
learn, and thrive, not just survive from one school year to the next.

Right now, too many of the systems children depend on are under strain,
from funding fights to political attacks on programs working families rely
on.

We should be strengthening those systems, not scaling them back.

We need to fully fund and protect the programs that give kids a strong
start, so every child has the support they need when classrooms open again
in the fall.

Together,

An important update from Team Alsobrooks:

Angela is so thankful for this grassroots team’s support and is eager to
get to work for Marylanders in the Senate. That’s why you’ll be receiving
fewer fundraising emails from us moving forward, in an effort to not clog
up your inbox for the next six years.

Instead, we’d rather send you emails you want to read – like updates on
Angela’s work in the Senate, or rundowns of key issues and news stories
from Washington.

But to make this possible, we’re relying on supporters like you to
consider making a small, monthly recurring contribution of $3 or even $5
to keep our operations running while Angela is busy fighting for Maryland
families.
