Deb Haaland, running for governor of New Mexico, is a single mom who relied on food stamps and sold homemade salsa to make ends meet while raising her daughter.

Jessica Killin, running to flip Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, served as an Army captain and paratrooper. Leela Gray , running to flip Florida’s 13th Congressional District, is a retired Army brigadier general. Nancy Lacore, running to flip South Carolina's 1st Congressional District, worked her way through the Naval ranks to eventually serve as the Chief of the Navy Reserve, entrusted to lead more than 60,000 sailors.
These women have served their country. They have worked for a paycheck. They have cared for their families and communities. And now, they are running to represent people whose lives reflect the same struggles they’ve experienced firsthand.
