I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you, friends: Your support has meant the world to me – and I can't stress that enough. But the fight isn't over.
It’s time to meet the urgency of this unprecedented moment in history – by doing everything in our power to put Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House and to protect our Democratic House majority. We are fortunate to have such a strong ticket, friends, and I have no doubt that these two will fight tirelessly to build a better America that works for all – something President Trump has never cared about. We can right the ship and restore the soul and decency of our nation with a Biden-Harris administration, friends.
|
But if we want to uphold the promises of America, we need to act now – because while yes, this is a celebratory time for Democrats with the historic nature of the Biden-Harris ticket, it’s also a terrifying time for millions of Americans who risk losing their voice this coming election because of the president's undermining of mail-in voting during a pandemic that he's allowed to ravage our country through his inaction.

In make-or-break moments like these, it’s okay to celebrate how far we’ve come, but we also need to recognize how far we have to go. To put things in the words of my friend, the late Congressman John Lewis: “Never give up, never give in, never give out. Keep the faith, and keep your eyes on the prize.”
|
If we want to put an end to President Trump’s corruption once and for all – to actually restore decency and accountability to Washington – then we need to follow in the footsteps of brave leaders like John Lewis and keep our eyes on the prize.
|
I know that with a strong Democratic House majority that backs up Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, we can keep that fight alive. But it’s up to voters like you to fight alongside us and make your voice heard. So again, I want to say thank you for helping us get this far – and I'm more fired-up than ever to push this team over the finish line on Nov. 3 with you.
All my best.
Congresswoman Val Demings
