John,
I’m boarding a plane right now to head back to DC for an important vote. I’ll be joining other Democrats in Congress to stop the recent attacks on the US Postal Service made by Trump and Postmaster General DeJoy -- attacks that have slowed mail service and threaten our ability to vote by mail.
Can I count on you to contribute $3 as I cast this crucial vote to defend the US Postal Service and our ability to vote by mail?
Back in June, I led the call to extend a $25 billion lifeline to the Postal Service. We anticipated that the budget issues facing USPS could threaten our right to vote, especially for those who will need to vote by mail during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump turned our worst fears into reality with the cuts, operational changes, and slowdowns instituted by Postmaster General DeJoy. What’s more, these changes were politically motivated -- Trump admitted it himself!
You’ve already made such a difference on this issue, and I’m so grateful. But in order to remove any doubt that our ballots will be counted, we have to keep pushing:
Can I count on your support, John, as I cast this vote to fund the USPS, roll back DeJoy’s changes, and defend voting by mail for all Americans?
It’s times like these I’m reminded that we all need to come together to secure our democracy.
Thanks,
Mike
