Join us on Sunday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET for a night of music and inspirational celebration, lifting up ordinary people who performed extraordinary acts of courage and compassion when confronted by hatred and injustice, and showing our strength as a community fighting hate for good.

100 Years of the 19th Amendment
This week marks the 100th anniversary of the U.S. Congress passing and the states ratifying the 19th Amendment. This amendment enshrined in the U.S. constitution that all citizens were given the right to vote regardless of gender, a promise that wouldn’t be fully realized until Black Americans were afforded this right as well with the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. To properly commemorate this anniversary, it is important to understand the history behind the amendment and the plight of voter suppression that many still face today while exercising this constitutional right.

Progress Report: Facebook Bans Blackface and Certain Antisemitic Conspiracy Theories
The social media giant announced the expansion of its hate speech policies in a press call on Tuesday morning. Under the new policy, Facebook will no longer allow visual or written posts that depict ‘caricatures of black people in the form of blackface’ or ‘Jewish people running the world or controlling major institutions such as media networks, the economy or the government,"' Recode
reported.
"Let's be clear, these are minor steps to address urgent issues on the platform. There's plenty more work to #StopHateforProfit," ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt tweeted.

ADL Applauds Historic Israel-UAE Agreement
ADL applauded the Governments of Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States for last week's historic announcement agreeing to work towards fully normalizing relations and announcing plans for cooperation across numerous civil fields between Israel and the Emirates. ADL also welcomed the announcement that Israel will suspend declaring sovereignty over territory in the West Bank, which we hope will help sustain the feasibility of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
