John,
"As Beshear recognizes Pride Month, nearby state leaders did something else" -- Courier Journal
This week, Andy signed a proclamation recognizing June as Pride Month in Kentucky.
And we want to talk about why — because it matters.
Just across the border, the governors of Indiana and Tennessee made a different choice. On the first day of Pride Month, Indiana Gov. Mike Braun declared June "Nuclear Family Month" — with a proclamation stating that the nuclear family "is God's design for the family structure."
That's not a statement about family values. It's a statement about whose families count and whose don't. Andy believes all children are children of God. No exceptions. No asterisks. And all families should be treated with dignity and respect.
That’s why Andy was the first sitting Kentucky governor to ever recognize Pride Month, back in 2021. And he’s shown up every year since. Because he made a pledge to fight for every single Kentuckian, every single day. And he’s kept that promise.
Our country deserves leaders who stand up to bullies. That's what Pride Month means to Andy. And that's what this fight is about.
The difference between what Andy signed this week and what Mike Braun signed this week is the difference between a government that sees you and one that doesn't.
