Schools are starting to open up across the country leaving students, parents, teachers, and staff vulnerable during a COVID-19 pandemic that isn’t in our rearview mirror.

President Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos have been leading the charge to reopen schools with absolutely no cohesive plan or funding to keep our kids and teachers safe. It’s no wonder we’ve already seen many schools have to shut down again after positive cases.

When asked how she would ensure the health and safety of everyone attending schools, DeVos had no answers. And don’t get me started about how Trump falsely claimed that kids are “almost immune” to COVID-19. The lack of concern and preparedness is outright dangerous, and our students and educators deserve so much better.

I’m a mom who isn’t afraid to fight like hell for my kids -- that’s what we need from our elected officials right now.
