As far as I see it, this shouldn't be controversial.
Medical marijuana can help veterans suffering from PTSD and chronic pain. It can help patients battling cancer. It can help families caring for children with severe seizure disorders.
And yet, some politicians are still fighting to keep it illegal.
That’s wrong. Patients and their doctors should be able to make medical decisions without politicians standing in the way, and Nebraska farmers should have the opportunity to benefit from a growing industry rather than watching other states capture the economic gains.
But as long as we have people like Pete Ricketts in the United States Senate — people who will do whatever special interest groups tell them, so long as the check is big enough — we’ll never make progress or deliver real change for the people.
That’s what this campaign is all about — returning power to the people. So I’m asking you personally to share your perspective and let me know where you stand on this critical issue.
