Folks, there’s been a lot of news surrounding the United States Postal Service this week, and I wanted to give you an update on our fight to save this critical American institution.
After a groundswell of citizens spoke out against the Trump administration’s sabotage of the USPS, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy announced this week that he will suspend the policy changes he was planning until after Election Day.
Good news, right? Wrong.
As of today, we still have little to no answers as to why public mail boxes were removed from communities across the country. The USPS still needs $25 billion in funding to avoid collapse.

And new reports claim that despite DeJoy’s announcement this week, USPS headquarters is telling post office managers not to reconnect any sorting machines that had recently been decommissioned. We desperately need those machines and blue mail boxes back ahead of the influx of mail-in ballots this November.
That’s why the NAACP is now suing the Postmaster General for dismantling the Postal Service as a means to disenfranchise voters of color across the country. And today, DeJoy is testifying before Congress, which rapidly reconvened to address this emergency.
Meanwhile, much like our mail boxes, Cindy Hyde-Smith is still missing in action, somewhere on summer vacation.
It’s clear we need to get to the bottom of this, and fast — especially with Election Day just 74 days away.
Help keep the pressure on: Join me in demanding Postmaster General DeJoy is held accountable and our mail boxes are returned to communities ASAP! Add your name now! [[link removed]]
