Friend,
Donald Trump is at it again. This time, he's lashing out by slowing down the mail to make it harder for people to vote by mail.
He doesn't care how many people are impacted by his efforts to swing the election. But remember — he is small, we are large, and we still hold the power. We can stand against these blatant attacks on a service that is fundamental to our health, well-being, and democracy.
And one good way to do that is to participate in a Save the Post Office event tomorrow, Saturday, August 20. Take a look at the events to find one near you.
You may have heard the news this week that the Postmaster General is pausing the attacks on the post office. He made the announcement because people like us stood up and said, "No. More."
But it isn't enough. He made no indication that he will reverse the harmful steps already taken to slow down the mail. Life saving medication sent by mail is still being delayed. Paychecks sent by mail are still being delayed. Public benefits and assistance sent by mail is still being delayed.
We can't let people get hurt like that. First, we need to vote — in person, if it can be done safely, or by mail, which remains a viable and reliable way to cast your ballot.
And next, we need to keep standing up to Trump's wannabe dictator act by taking back our postal service and making sure it works for us all again.
Check out the list of Save the Post Office events happening near you tomorrow.
Thank you,
Juanita and the United We Dream Action team
