Dear John,

Right now, we have a golden opportunity to stop one of the most destructive
fossil fuel projects of all -- the Trans Mountain Pipeline. But we need to act
fast. Help stop the Trans Mountain Pipeline with a rush $10 donation to Friends of
the Earth.

If expanded, the Trans Mountain Pipeline will ship almost a million barrels of
tar sands oil per year across Canada, through the Salish Sea, and into the
United States. It threatens communities across the Northwest with oil spills and
puts the Southern Resident Orca at risk of extinction.

But the Trans Mountain Pipeline is in a precarious position. It must renew its
insurance by the end of August, or else it can’t be built. Three of its insurers
have already dropped the project -- but Liberty Mutual, one of its biggest
insurers, is continuing to prop up this polluting pipeline. Friends of the Earth
is mobilizing a campaign to stop the money pipeline -- pressuring banks and
other financiers to cut off the money for fossil fuel projects like the Trans
Mountain Pipeline. But we need your help.

Help force Liberty Mutual Insurance to drop Trans Mountain and focus on people,
not polluters! Donate $10.

[[link removed]]There are only 74 Southern Resident Orcas remaining in the entire world -- and
they all rely on the waterways that theTrans Mountain Pipeline tankers would
threaten. We cannot risk their extinction for Big Oil profits.

Moreover, this pipeline is a tar sands pipeline. Not only is tar sands the
dirtiest oil -- heavy and virtually impossible to clean up -- it is also one of
the highest carbon sources of oil on the planet. This pipeline, like the tar
sands themselves, is a ticking carbon bomb.

But we have a chance to win this fight quickly. Thanks to years of campaigning,
and support from Friends of the Earth members like you, we are forcing the
finance and insurance industry to realize that fossil fuels are a bad
investment. The dominoes are falling, and major insurers are pulling out of this
project one after another. Liberty Mutual Insurance is one of the few major
financial institutions still propping up this pipeline.

Act now: Help us win this historic victory against the Trans Mountain Pipeline
with a $10 donation to Friends of the Earth.

[[link removed]]If we stop Liberty Mutual and other companies from renewing Trans Mountain’s
insurance, we can stop the pipeline. That is why we need a wave of public
pressure to demand Liberty Mutual drop this project -- forcing Trans Mountain to
scramble to find insurers before the end-of-month deadline.

But this fight goes beyond the Trans Mountain Pipeline. In order to prevent the
fossil fuel industry’s destruction of our communities, wildlife and climate, we
need to send a resounding message to financiers everywhere to stop bankrolling
these projects.

That’s why Friends of the Earth is working with the Stop the Money Pipeline
coalition to cut off the money for fossil fuels across the country. We’re
campaigning against Big Banks like Chase, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. At
the same time, we’re pushing Wall Street giant Blackrock to improve its policies
on climate and deforestation. And we’re working in California and around the
country to build support for public banks that fund communities, not climate
chaos.

These are the structural changes we need to put clean energy and communities
before Big Oil. A few more big victories could be the tipping point.

We have a chance to win on the Trans Mountain Pipeline in a matter of weeks --
but our window is closing. We need a massive fundraising and advocacy push to
power through the finish line, and force Liberty Mutual to put the nail in the
coffin of this environmental disaster.

Help defeat the Trans Mountain Pipeline and push the insurance industry out of
fossil fuels once and for all. Support Friends of the Earth today.
