Environmental Champion,

With counties having officially certified the results of the Primary Election, we can now turn our focus to November 3, the General Election. We have just 74 days until the election is over.

This Primary Election, Washington saw historic numbers in voter turnout! 55.3% of registered voters returned their ballots. We know turnout for November's election is going to be huge—that means we have to worker harder than ever to make sure our message gets through.

The candidates we elect now will play a critical role in deciding the fate of communities across Washington at one of the most consequential times in our state’s history. We have an opportunity to elect leaders who will invest in public health, protect frontline workers, and tackle our biggest environmental challenges.

The most competitive races in our state are going to come down to just hundreds of votes, and most importantly YOU can be the difference. In the Primary Election:

591 votes are all that separate Sharon Shewmake from her opponent488 votes are all that separate Ingrid Anderson from her opponent235 votes are all that separate T'wina Nobles from her opponent

Phone banking and texting our neighbors is the safest way that we can engage with voters from home this election season. This Primary Election, 252 WCV volunteers across the state made 2,721 phone calls and sent 28,307 text messages to targeted legislative districts. Even though we can't be physically together, we can make a big impact when we come together virtually!

WCV is working with campaigns across the state to make sure voters know who is pro-environment and turn their ballots in as soon as they can. Communicating directly with voters is the most effective way to improve voter turnout and help these environmental champions win in November!
