AUGUST VICTORIES
Results are still trickling in from our last set of August primaries – no word yet on many of our Florida or Alaska candidates. That can happen when you have high voter turnout [[link removed]] !
Results in Shevrin Jones ’ race for the state Senate came quickly, however. With his victory, Shevrin is on-track to become the first openly LGBTQ state Senator in Florida [[link removed]] !
Shevrin faced wave after wave of attacks and had two homophobic opponents [[link removed]] . But as it turns out, homophobia didn’t pay [[link removed]] .
Michele Rayner also declared victory in her race for the Florida state House! Should she win in November, Michele will make history as the first openly LGBTQ women elected to the Florida house [[link removed]] !
Florida House incumbent Jennifer Webb didn’t have a primary opponent – but she’s facing stiff opposition in the general election. Luckily, she’s leading in fundraising [[link removed]] !
If all our endorsed Florida state legislative candidates win this November, we can double LGBTQ representation in the state legislature – from three to six!
SEPTEMBER PRIMARIES
Primary day in Masschusetts's first Congressional District is fast approaching and there’s great news for Alex Morse : he's neck-and-neck in the polls [[link removed]] !
Five city councilors also announced they’re endorsing Alex, noting that U.S. Congressman Rick Neal has been long absent in their part of the state [[link removed]] .
And with Election Day fast approaching and all allegations against Alex proven false, only one question remains: Can Richard Neal avoid the same fate as Eliot Engel [[link removed]] ?
Tiara Mack is challenging an anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ incumbent for a seat in the Rhode Island state Senate and her latest mailer clearly lays out the differences. Take a look [[link removed]] !
