Before I got married in 2015, I called our wedding ceremony venue and asked one question: Would you serve anyone who came through your doors?

My question wasn't random. I was getting married in Indiana and Governor Mike Pence had just signed a bill into law that permitted Indiana businesses to openly refuse service to LGBTQ+ people.

That phone call wasn't the first time he'd affected my life. Mike Pence has represented some combination of me, my friends, and my family for nearly 20 years -- and that's not counting his time as vice president.

I've seen Mike Pence claim smoking doesn't kill, exacerbate an HIV outbreak, introduce the first bill in Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, try to start a government-run media outlet, undermine the only Democrat elected statewide in Indiana, and so very much more.

But we can replace him this year, and we can do it with a pro-choice, pro-health care, pro-LGBTQ+ Democratic woman.
