Folks,

I’m running for Governor to finally make Montgomery work for the people who call this state home.

Right now, too many Alabamians feel shut out. Nearly two-thirds of folks across party lines say their government does not care what they think.

That’s no surprise. For too long, Montgomery has run its finances to the benefit of insiders and special interests. Too many politicians like Tommy Tuberville have gotten rich trading stocks in industries they oversee while working families are left wondering who is looking out for them.

We’ve got to bring back trust and accountability to Alabama’s finances. But it’s gonna take more than winning the Governor’s office. We need good people back in Montgomery up and down the ballot.

So I’d like to take a moment to tell you about a wonderful woman who’s running alongside me on the Ticket for Change, Rosilyn “Roz” Houston. Roz is an old friend of mine, and she’s running for State Treasurer.

The Treasurer helps oversee Alabama’s financial resources and ensures public dollars are handled responsibly. It is a serious job. Millions of Alabama families are counting on our state treasurer to manage our finances with honesty, discipline, and accountability. Our current treasurer, Young Boozer, has been in power for more than 20 years. And until now, he’s never faced a serious challenger.

We need a Treasurer who understands money, understands people, and understands that public service means putting Alabama first. Roz Houston is exactly the right woman for the job.

She has spent more than 30 years in banking, business, nonprofit service, and corporate leadership. She has managed major financial operations, helped oversee billions of dollars, worked in highly regulated environments, and made the kinds of decisions that require discipline, judgment, and accountability.

In other words, Roz knows how to make Alabama’s money work for its people. She knows what it means to protect people’s trust. And she knows how to ask the right questions when the numbers are big, the stakes are high, and millions of people are counting on you to get it right.

Roz also knows Alabama. She recently served as the head of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, one of Alabama’s most important institutions. In that role, she helped guide an organization dedicated to preserving our history, advancing education, and bringing people together for serious conversations about justice, leadership, and the future of our state.

She has also served with organizations focused on cancer research, education, young women, heart health, economic opportunity, and children and families facing serious illness. She is a breast cancer survivor, and anyone who knows her knows she brings strength, grace, and determination to everything she does.

We both need your help. Can you pitch in to help me and Roz with a split contribution?

Let’s do this. Together.
