Appeals court: FCUs can file suit in federal court [ [link removed] ]
In a win for federal credit unions, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit overturned a lower-court decision and determined that they have diversity jurisdiction to file a federal lawsuit. NAFCU filed an amicus brief in support of Navy Federal Credit Union as the credit union appealed the lower court's decision.

During its July board meeting, the NCUA proposed a rule to exclude from total assets any loan a federal credit union (FCU) reports under the PPP or similar future programs. NAFCU sent a Regulatory Alert to member credit unions detailing the proposal and seeking feedback on the approach to operating fees.
