The Trump administration is seeking to open areas of the Arctic Refuge to oil and gas drilling. They will ask fossil fuel companies where they want to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge -- putting irreplaceable lands, Indigenous rights, and our climate at risk. But, drilling can only happen in the Arctic if oil and gas companies bid!

Companies monitor their social media mentions, so the more they see that we oppose this action, the less likely they are to bid. Use our social media toolkit to publicly demand that these companies don't participate in the Arctic Refuge lease sale.

Take Action!

Dear friend,

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of the most sacred and wild places left on Earth. For generations, the Gwich'in people have cared for this land and fought to protect it -- in fact, they refer to the coastal plain as "The Sacred Place Where Life Begins."

The protection of this irreplaceable landscape is a matter of survival and food security for the Gwich'in, whose way of life is tied to the health and migration routes of the Porcupine Caribou. But those ways of life are under threat by the Trump administration and corporate polluters.

The administration is currently planning a lease sale, and bids will be opened on June 5. Over 1.5 million acres of this precious land will be on the auction block. Drilling in the coastal plain would permanently destroy this sacred place.

But our public pressure has helped stop major financial institutions from funding Arctic drilling before, and we can do it again!

If enough of us demand on social media that the Arctic is protected, we can once again keep corporations from bidding on this sacred landscape.

Will you take a moment to tag oil and gas companies on social media today, and urge them not to drill in the Arctic Refuge? [link removed]

Thank you for your continued support to protect people and the planet.

Sincerely,

Mike Scott (he/him)
