What do a pair of long-legged cats, 200 giant babies, and some ancient UK mammals have in common? They all feature in this month’s update, from your friends at Born Free. Together, we care for a wonderful wild world!

But, we urgently need your help again. Foxes are still being hunted by dogs, here in the UK. We welcome news of a government consultation, but they need to hear from YOU. Our simple guide will help you take action to ban ‘trail hunting’ for good.

It’s still legal for UK hunts to lay a ‘scent trail’ of fox urine – a deadly smokescreen which can lead to foxes being chased and killed by packs of dogs. We are calling on the government to close loopholes, and YOU can take action.

Use our guidance to submit a response to the public consultation, before 18th June.

No place like home

After brutal wildfires in South Africa, we leapt in to evacuate two servals from our partner sanctuary, Panthera Africa. But now, good news. It’s safe for Balozi and Mahaba – previously kept as illegal pets – to return home.

A privately-owned tiger has been shot dead in Germany, after attacking a keeper and escaping. Wild animals don’t belong in living rooms, back gardens, or makeshift enclosures. It’s time to reform weak laws.
