Folks, the establishment is f***ing terrified of our campaign.
I know that because an outside special interest PAC affiliated with Nirav Shah has just unleashed lying attack ads to smear my record and purposely mislead voters.
First and foremost, you’re a critical part of this team, so I want to personally make sure you know exactly where I stand. Let me say this loud and clear:
Abortion restrictions do not belong in the great state of Maine. Not now, not ever. As governor, I will continue the fight to safeguard reproductive healthcare and abortion rights — and I will fight to expand them so that every person in our state can exercise their freedom without fear or interference.
When I was in the Maine Senate, I fought like hell to protect Mainers’ freedoms, including the right to reproductive health care of all kinds. And we didn’t wait for Roe to be overturned to take steps to protect people’s rights — we took action because that’s what Mainers needed and deserved.
I’m deeply proud to have cosponsored [[link removed]] and passed some of the strongest and most progressive reproductive health protections anywhere in the country:
We made Maine the first state in the country to expand abortion access later in pregnancy after Dobbs. We eliminated criminal penalties for healthcare providers doing their jobs and strengthened privacy protections. We made sure no town in the state could restrict access through local ordinances, tackled cost barriers, and expanded access to birth control and prenatal and postpartum care.
While I was Senate President, Maine proved to be a national leader in reproductive rights, and as governor, I will make damn sure we stay that way — that’s why I’ve earned a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
Planned Parenthood doesn't hand out 100% ratings by accident. I earned that rating in every election I’ve run in for a decade, because I fought for these protections, voted for them, and helped get them across the finish line.
So why is a special interest super PAC from outside Maine running a TV ad trying to scare Mainers into thinking the opposite just six days before the election?
It’s simple: my campaign for governor threatens the status quo, and we’re surging in the polls. Shah can feel us gaining ground, and the establishment is scared shitless of what that means, so they’re resorting to desperate attacks to lie to Mainers.
But I won’t back down. This election isn't just about one attack ad or one issue. It's about what kind of Maine we're going to be. I got into this race to fight for the future working Mainers deserve. We’ve built a grassroots movement powered by more than 20,000 donations and hundreds of thousands of supporters — and the establishment can’t drown out what we’ve built with a few jump-scare attack ads.
If you’re with me, I have two important requests for you today:
1. Set the record straight. [[link removed]] With six days to go, every conversation matters. Post on social media about my 100% rating from Planned Parenthood, talk to your friends, family, and neighbors, and make sure no one you know is getting fooled by these outside groups trying to influence our election.
2. If you can, please contribute to my campaign so I can counter these attacks. [[link removed]] They’re going to keep coming, and we desperately need more resources to make sure every voter in Maine knows the truth before Election Day.
Thank you for reading and for being a part of this.
Solidarity forever,
Troy Jackson
