Joe Biden just left the stage of the Democratic National Convention as our nominee for President of the United States!

I am full of optimism and excitement for January, 2021, when we will hopefully see a bright future for our country, restoration of our democracy and our country's leadership in the world, and healing of our nation.

This week's convention has been so inspiring, and yet with so much on the line this November, we can't take anything for granted. Particularly with my race.

A new article from the Washington Post said the results of our top-two primary indicate experts might be dangerously underestimating Trump and Republicans' prospects this election.

Across Washington State, in a record turnout election, Republican support increased from the 2018 primary. And here in the 8th District, the Washington Post even wrote "The trend is even scarier for first-term Democratic Rep. Kim Schrier," after Republicans outvoted Democrats, 49 to 47%.

This is the most important election of our lifetime, and it's critical that we not only elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, but also hold our majority in the House. Will you pitch in $5 or more to help protect our House majority this November?

John -- the odds are stacked against us heading into November. It's been a decade since the party that won the primary lost the general election in Washington State. That means our district is at risk.

Republicans are seeing the same trends as we are, and taking it as a sign they can defeat our campaign in November. We need to be prepared right now to fight back against whatever attacks they throw our way.
