Yesterday, hundreds of people like you showed up in Harrisburg to advocate for an end to gun violence.
I’m still processing the day we shared, but here’s what’s on my mind today:
* Our stories were POWERFUL. Our advocates reported great, productive meetings with members across the political spectrum. Ending gun violence is a cause that brings so many of us together. Legislators heard our stories, and they will remember them.
* We had quite a few representatives agree to co-sponsor secure storage legislation and bills to ban ghost guns and machine-gun converters . We’re still compiling everything our team knows, and we’ll update you when we can.
* I saw many familiar faces, but also many new ones. Our movement is growing, and every one of us has the power to influence the laws that affect our lives.
Gun violence isn’t inevitable — our lawmakers have an opportunity to make meaningful changes to protect our families and communities.
The orange shirts that showed up seemingly everywhere at the Capitol yesterday were just one step on the road to real change.
The next step is keeping up the pressure on the legislators we met with on Advocacy Day. We’ll be emailing and texting you over the following weeks as priority bills work their way through the legislature.
