Friends --

Did you see Obama speak at the Democratic convention last night? Of the GOP, he said: "this president and those in power -- those who benefit from keeping things the way they are -- they are counting on your cynicism. They know they can’t win you over with their policies. So they’re hoping to make it as hard as possible for you to vote, and to convince you that your vote doesn’t matter. That’s how they win. That’s how they get to keep making decisions that affect your life, and the lives of the people you love."

It’s no wonder why Obama would be fed up with Trump and the GOP: they’ve embraced blatantly racist voter suppression laws as a way to steal the 2020 election.

But Trump is refusing to admit that Obama is right and that expanded voting rights are the best way to fix systemic inequality. Instead, Trump is insisting that “success will bring us together.” That sounds a lot like tax breaks for the rich while people of color suffer on the sidelines -- we’d much rather follow Obama’s lead, and were grateful to hear him speak at the Democratic convention yesterday. Trump predictably followed up that speech with a series of false and baseless attacks on the former president -- will you join us in standing with the 44th president?

Do you approve of Barack Obama?
