John,
Amazon is helping the police spy on protesters.1
Tell mayors to stop Amazon and protect protesters!
Across the country, activists are working to hold police accountable for repression and violence. In return, the cops are using surveillance to crack down en masse. And Amazon is the driving force behind their surveillance technology.
From a special law enforcement cloud service to footage collected from the Ring surveillance network, Amazon is doing everything possible to build and expand law enforcement’s surveillance power.2,3
It’s not enough to talk about policing, we need to dismantle their surveillance tools and disturbing partnerships with Amazon. And mayors are the ones with the power to do it.
Tell mayors to end all Amazon-police surveillance partnerships!
TAKE ACTION
Amazon has video-sharing surveillance partnerships with over 1,300 police departments. The technology giant maps out locations for every Ring camera in a given city and empowers police to request footage en masse from thousands of residents without probable cause.4,5
With Ring ‘eyes’ throughout the city, police have access to limitless amounts of data they use to track and monitor protesters.
Police access to the Ring surveillance network is only growing. Since the murder George Floyd, Amazon has formed over 100 more partnerships with police departments.6
This has to stop. We need to pressure mayors to end these partnerships and cut off police access to Amazon’s surveillance technology.
Tell mayors to end Amazon’s police surveillance state!
End Government + Corporate Surveillance,
