The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Trump blinked.

Trump’s $1.8B ‘Anti-Weaponization’ Fund Is Dead—For Now

We called it a slush fund. We called it corrupt. We called it what it was: $1.8 billion in taxpayer money handed to MAGA grifters and January 6 rioters with zero oversight.

And we wouldn't let it go.

While Congress sat in recess, we kept the pressure on. We made sure this story didn't die quietly in the back pages. We made it a liability. We made it loud.

Yesterday, Trump folded. Again. He called it "a distraction."

That's what corruption sounds like when it gets caught.

We knew Trump was gonna TACO. We just had to turn up the heat.

This is definitely a victory. But as you know, he'll try again. Different vehicle, same con. He always does. And he always chickens out when we make enough noise.

Congress is back in session soon. Help us be ready for whatever Trump tries next >>
