Members of Parliament take automatic pay raises every year on April 1.

New Brunswick MP Mike Dawson publicly opposed the raise and told the government to “make the necessary arrangements with the payroll and benefits administration” so he wouldn’t receive the pay raise.

The government told Dawson that MPs can’t refuse the raise.

But Dawson is still fighting for YOU.

Dawson just launched a court challenge to strike down the government’s requirement for him to take the annual MP pay raise. Dawson is going to court to stop his pay raise!

It’s a good bet that Dawson is going to get flak from other MPs that want to keep stuffing their pockets with your money.

MPs took their 14th consecutive annual pay raise on April 1.

The base salary for an MP is now $217,700.

Dawson is the only MP who publicly opposed this year’s pay raise.
