John — I'm proud that Giffords PAC has endorsed Congressman Gil Cisneros, who is a proven gun safety champion — we must help re-elect him in 2020. There is so much at stake this year: We need to expand our gun safety majority in the House, take back the Senate, and defeat the NRA’s #1 ally — Donald Trump. That’s why we’re proud to support Gil. If we can send him to Congress this year I know he will be a tireless ally in our fight to save lives from gun violence. For Gil, the fight against gun violence is personal. Gil’s grandfather was shot and killed during a grocery store robbery when his mom was only 10 years old. That’s why in 2018, he was proud to run on a strong gun violence prevention platform against and beat an opponent with an A rating from the NRA. And that’s why he is committed to tackling America’s gun violence crisis. In Congress, Gil is at the forefront of the movement for gun reform. His platform calls for universal background checks, banning bump stocks, passing “red flag” laws to ensure guns don’t fall into the wrong hands, and closing the “boyfriend loophole” that increases the rates of domestic violence in our country. It’s clear we need a lot more people like Gil in Congress if we want to see our gun laws change.
