John,

Last night at the Democratic National Convention, former President Barack Obama made it clear: the very soul of our nation is at stake in this election -- and we can't afford to fall short.

As President Obama said, "what we do in these next 76 days will echo for generations to come."

President Obama's speech was a call to action, John, and it's up to all of us to respond. Not only do we need to vote like our lives depend on it -- we need to make sure all of our Democratic candidates have the support they will need to win the White House, keep the House, and flip the Senate. Will you pitch in $5 now to join the fight?

If we're going to win this fight for our nation's future, there is no doubt that we need to take back the Senate from Mitch McConnell and the Republican majority. That starts by defending all of our Democratic incumbents up for re-election -- including Senator Dick Durbin here in Illinois.

That's why Team Durbin set an ambitious $25,000 fundraising goal for the Democratic National Convention this week -- and because of this team's tremendous support, we're almost there.

John, contribute $5 now to support Dick Durbin's campaign and help us get across the finish line and meet our goal before the convention closes tonight.
