Jack, the month of May just ended. We didn't make our goal.

Not dramatically—we're still here, still publishing, still doing the work. But
we closed the month short of where we needed to be, and that matters. It means
this month starts with less runway than we'd like. No cushion carried over. No
buffer to absorb a slow week.

I'm telling you this because you deserve to know where things actually
stand—not a fundraising frame, just the honest picture. Last month fell short.
This month has to do better.

If you were planning to give and didn't get around to it—this is the moment.
Fresh month, real need, no deadline pressure. Just: we need to start this one
stronger than we ended the last.

Can you donate $5 today? $5 right now matters more on day one than it will two
weeks from now.
