Dear Sisters and Brothers,
The public outcry – led by postal workers - is working. Earlier this week, we forced Postmaster General DeJoy to blink and he announced that the Postal Service is suspending some of the PMG’s destructive policies through November.
We welcome any step in the right direction, but this announcement is far from sufficient. Our struggle in defense of the public Postal Service, our jobs and our union, is far from over.
The House of Representatives begins hearings on Monday to demand answers. On Tuesday, we will come together across the country at our local post offices to show that postal workers and all Americans support a thriving, PUBLIC postal service.
We are joining with public supporters in a national Day of Action to #SaveThePostOffice on August 25th. Will you join us by hosting an event at your local post office?

Simply announcing a pause of some of the destructive policies that have unnecessarily delayed the mail is not enough.
- We must secure the $25 billion of emergency COVID relief the Postal Service urgently needs.
- We must permanently reverse the service cuts.
- We must ensure proper staffing are restored to protect mail delivery.
- And, we will demand that the Postal Service work with us to restore public confidence and ensure that every mail-in ballot is properly delivered and counted.

We’ve seen an unprecedented outpouring of support for the USPS and all postal workers. From the stories being shared on the #MyBestUSPSmail hashtag to hundreds of thousands of calls and letters to Congress, people are making it clear where they stand. We know that 91% of the public loves and trusts the USPS. We must protect that trust and preserve the vital service that serves every community in our country.
Please join us by hosting an event during our Day of Action to #SaveThePostOffice on August 25.
In unity,
