Yesterday was World Humanitarian Day, making today’s message about Beirut even more timely and in some ways, more heartbreaking. Families in Beirut are continuing to struggle in the aftermath of the devastating port explosions, and many of its health care centers have structural damage, leaving less than half of them fully operational.

Remaining hospitals are starting to reach capacity in their intensive care units. A lockdown to stop the surge in coronavirus infections will go into effect on Friday. Hygiene Kits $10 a month

can provide hygiene kits for two people to stay healthy with first aid supplies, soap, toothbrushes, and more.

Essential Medications $20 a month

can give 100 people the medications they need to survive.

Medical Supplies $51 a month

can stock a clinic with enough medical supplies to provide care for 750 people.

Project HOPE’s Emergency Response team is on the ground in Beirut supporting community clean-up efforts and working around the clock to provide urgent aid. In Lebanon and places like Yemen and the Dominican Republic, we are delivering medicines and supplies like antibiotics, basic hygiene supplies and protective gear for health workers.
