Hi,
Our unending dependency on plastics has placed our environment in a dire situation that may come to a tipping point within this new decade. In many facets of life, humans have prioritized convenience over conservation and profit over environmental stewardship. Thus, we end up where we are today, in a world where plastics are in almost everything and everyone. It's time we put plastic pollution in perspective.
Earth Day Network’s End Plastic Pollution Campaign <[link removed]> sets out to educate the masses about the dangers of plastic pollution and present strategies to make change towards a more sustainable future.
Why is plastic so bad?
Beyond polluting our communities and our global oceans, plastic pollution also presents a serious threat to the ecosystem and contributes to climate change. By 2050, plastic production will take up 15 percent of our carbon budget. By taking action, you can not only help curb these carbon emissions but also reduce the millions of pounds of plastic that leach into the oceans each year.
One of the biggest impacts you can make is by following Earth Day Network’s 6 Rs: Reduce, Refuse, Reuse, Recycle, Remove and Rally. Learn more <[link removed]> about these 6 Rs then check out the actions and articles below.
Let’s put plastic in its place.
