"Unfortunately, this transformative initiative has had unintended consequences,” said the postmaster general and Trump mega-donor Louis DeJoy on the results of his continual attacks on the U.S. Postal Service.

These “unintended consequences” include the delayed delivery of medicine for thousands of U.S. senior citizens and veterans, the suspension of overtime for postal workers, and a hiring freeze from one of the largest employers of women and people of color in the country during a national public health crisis.

DeJoy may have paused his assault on the country’s most popular agency for now, but Nancy Pelosi has demanded he “reverse his operational changes that have led to delays and service reductions for too many Americans and threaten to undermine our democracy.” Meanwhile, former president Barack Obama has urged Americans to vote early to ensure their vote is counted.
