New Citizenshipworks Learning Center
Citizenshipwork launched a new learning center this month, "About Citizenship." It features plain language articles in English and Spanish on citizenship basics and common questions for prospective applicants. Topics include qualifying for citizenship, the process, the interview, the costs, the upcoming fee changes and more. In the year ahead, we will add informative and timely articles to help people understand the naturalization process. Do you know someone who is thinking about applying for citizenship? Send them to https://www.citizenshipworks.org/en/citizenship to learn more.
Join us! You are invited to write or share a plain language article for the learning center. We can work with you to create or link easy-to-understand legal content. To contribute, contact [email protected].

Deaths in Detention - Join us on Thursday, August 27th, at 1:00 Eastern for our upcoming webinar, "Investigating In-Custody Tragedies for Organizing, Advocacy, and Accountability." Advocates offer an overview of the opportunities and pitfalls to investigating DHS in-custody deaths. This training will: - explain the parameters and timelines for both advocate and government investigations;
- analyze the documents to obtain;
- provide case studies; and
- discuss communications, advocacy, and the organizations' decision to pursue these cases.
