Friend, While he came up short last Tuesday, Antone Melton-Meaux received roughly as many votes as Rep. Omar had received in her 2018 primary and kept her below 60% of the vote. That’s a sign of vulnerability, especially when compared to other incumbents who won their primary battles by much larger margins. Although we ultimately fell short in unseating Representative Omar, there are insights from this race that lead me to feel optimistic about the future of pro-Israel politics in America. In part, it is because of supporters like you that I feel optimistic.
First: we made this race competitive when no one thought we could. When Melton-Meaux announced his campaign, no one considered him to be a serious threat to Omar. In the following weeks, some massive fundraising pushes for Melton-Meaux caused many major commentators to change their tone. Major media outlets, both in the district and nationally, called this one of the most competitive primaries that put Rep. Omar’s congressional seat up for grabs. Second: we aren’t finished. This campaign’s performance gives me hope for future pro-Israel campaigns. There are many U.S. Senate races in the near future that will define the pro-Israel landscape in Washington for years to come.
The Pro-Israel Community has a lot to be proud of: ✅ Raised over $500k for Antone Melton-Meaux ✅ Put Rep. Omar on the defensive ✅ Sent a clear message to Congress about our strength Watch Pro-Israel America’s Chairman, Jonathan Missner, on i24 news discuss this race and the future of our movement. As someone who has spent much of my career championing pro-Israel causes, I am sincerely thankful for your support and look forward to continuing to work together on this important cause.
