John,

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who applied to this year's Care Fellowship program. It was an absolute honor to review and seriously consider the 100+ applications we received.

We are thrilled to announce we have chosen this year's twenty-person cohort and we couldn't be more grateful to cause 'good trouble'* with these folks over the next six months. Our fellows are all current or former family caregivers and represent Caring Across Generations' growing multi-racial, multi-ethnic, intergenerational base. The 2020 cohort represents a rich group of people living across the country with a multitude of caregiving experiences.

Some of our cohort includes people like Dr. Kitchens from Stockbridge, GA who is raising her late daughter's children and is very passionate about public policy, Nureena from Durham, NC who is a secondary caregiver for her father and wants to write a chapbook* one day about her experiences with anticipatory grief, and Paula of Pittsburgh, PA who, prior to caregiving for her mother, was a PR professional and regularly sang at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

For 2020, the first half of the fellowship will focus on the Care Voters program, which aims to mobilize as many caregivers as possible to exercise their right to vote this presidential election.

If you're interested in volunteering to speak with family caregivers across the country from the comfort of your home, sign up here!
