We are in a fight to save our democracy.

With the Democratic National Convention coming to a close and the Republican National Convention soon to follow, we're just 74 days from the election. A number of states still have yet to guarantee voting by mail to all eligible voters during the pandemic, and concerns around the USPS remain.

It's clear our calls to "Let People Vote" are as urgent as ever – and all of us will need to act quickly to ensure our ballots are cast and counted. That's why we've put together a resource to help you prepare at aclu.org/voter.

As you get ready to vote, the ACLU's advocacy and legal teams will not stop fighting to preserve this most fundamental right. Here's a rundown of our latest voting efforts:

• Since the Senate broke for recess, we've been calling for their return and for urgent COVID-19 relief legislation – including the House-passed HEROES ACT, which contains critical voting provisions for no-excuse mail-in voting during the pandemic, early voting, and funding for USPS that can ensure mail-in ballot delivery.
• On Tuesday, we gave arguments in court to defend our victory against Florida's modern-day poll tax. Securing this victory may enable hundreds of thousands of formerly-disenfranchised people to register to vote in time for November.
• Over the past weekend, Puerto Rico's primaries resumed as a result, in part, to our win in a lawsuit against the Puerto Rico Election Commission. Our case was filed on behalf of a voter who was unable to cast a ballot last Sunday due to the closure of the polls and a lack of ballots.
• Last Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled in the ACLU's favor after the Republican National Committee (RNC) asked the Court to block our victory in Rhode Island in a case in which the state agreed a witness or notary requirement on absentee ballots would NOT be enforced for the November election.
• We sued in Mississippi and filed papers to join a lawsuit in Pennsylvania last Monday to protect voters' rights during the pandemic – challenging restrictions to absentee ballots in MS, and fighting for secure drop boxes for people to submit their absentee and mail-in ballots and an extended ballot return deadline in PA.

ACLU Supporter, requiring people to risk COVID-19 infection in order to vote is voter suppression, plain and simple. And when we know this pandemic disproportionately impacts people of color, people with disabilities, and low-income communities the most – it's also blatantly discriminatory.

Our democracy works best when all voters can cast our ballots. And this moment is a firm reminder that achieving equal voting rights is still imperative. That's why the ACLU continues to fight – especially in this most consequential election.
