John,

When Laura implemented a mask mandate early last month, her goal was to keep Kansans safe and healthy. And the data don’t lie. The 16 Kansas counties that adopted Laura's mask mandate are seeing a decrease in the amount of confirmed COVID-19 cases. Compared to the 89 counties that didn't adopt the mandate that are seeing an upward trend in confirmed cases.

Wearing a mask isn't a political statement. It's the right thing to do to keep ourselves, our loved ones, and our state safe from this pandemic. And now, it's up to all of us to do our part today.

When we wear our masks inside stores, at work, and outside, we're protecting ourselves, our loved ones, and our neighbors. With this simple action, we have the opportunity to change the future of our state and end the spread of COVID-19.

Please continue to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and good hygiene so we can continue to lessen the spread of COVID-19 across the state.

Thank you,

Team Kelly
